Grow Through Self Reflection

By: Jamahl Hokstam

In the last couple of months, I’ve done a lot of self reflecting in my quest for growth. I’ve now come to the realization that all things are possible with the mind.

I say this because I’ve confirmed my hypotheses through the act of affirmations. I have been able to manifest into my life, the things I’ve wanted with belief in myself and the belief that the universe and the higher power that be will allow me to achieve these goals.

How ever I must say, that was only stage one of the journey we call life. When an experience is new you start the see the changes all around you, but as with all things as time passes we become numb to these new experiences as they are just apart of life.

As human beings I believe that we are uncomfortable with the unknown, and the unknown is the most influential prt of living. There’s a saying that “ cows run from the storm and buffalo run into the storm. The difference is that the cow will always suffer because there’s always something behind him. The Buffalo will suffer but only until the storm has passed.

You must first know that there is a storm, then we must choose which direction we want to head.

The next step In my personal evolution is now to discipline myself to the fullest extent in order to fully posses the power to which I’ve now tapped into.

You see I’ve been searching for the ultimate knowledge of self for quite some time and I’ve been able to learn a lot of both myself and those around me in my journey.

I’ve learned that we all have our own challenges or vices as others may call them. These things can become burdens that weigh down the experience of life. Sometimes they ( our burdens) can spiral out of control until life becomes completely chaotic.

In this quest for discipline, I plan to try and control these burdens or at least learn to recognize them as such.

I feel like life has so much more to offer but lack of vision can make our reality clouded. Fears, anxieties and lack of guidance through the fog then place us in a state of dis-ease.

I’ve taken the time to understand that there are things that subconsciously control us but we just need to make the decision to change. Knowing something and doing something about it are very different. Sometimes it’s the fear of change that stops us from truly making life enjoyable.
